Founded in 1990 as Acadia Brewing, Atlantic Brewing Company is a popular craft brewery near Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island. Atlantic Brewing has two locations on MDI, the main brewery on Knox Rd toward the entrance to MDI and the new beautiful Midtown location. In 2008, Atlantic Brewing acquired the only other brewing company on MDI, Bar Harbor Brewing Company. It still brews and sells many of the popular original Acadia National Park-themed recipes including Thunder Hole Ale and Cadillac Mountain Stout. The Town Hill Location is also home to Mainely Meats, where outdoor seating, delicious bbq, and of course, Atlantic Brewing beer is available on tap.
