Named for the peak that towers over Somes Sound to the west in Acadia National Park, our Acadia Mountain campsite is one of our larger campsites, suitable for groups and families. A 3 minute, 300 foot walk from the parking area, this site is ideal for those seeking a quiet, spacious camping area to smell the evergreen trees and play in the ocean air just a minutes from the crashing waves along Acadia’s Schoodic Peninsula.
This site offers the best night sky viewing at Acadia East Campground, along with room for 1-3 tents, a campfire ring, hammock, and picnic table.
Camping at Acadia National Park just got even better at the Acadia East Campground’s Acadia Mountain campsite. Tucked into evergreen trees and exposed granite landscape, you’ll feel as if you’re deep in the heart of Acadia.
Once you’ve made camp, take a leisurely nature walk around the grounds to identify trees, plants, and animals; or take your kayak, bike, or hiking shoes down the road into Acadia National Park’s Schoodic Woods region. We’re so glad you’re here.
