Bartlett Maine Estate Winery | Spirits of Maine Distilling – Gouldsboro, Maine

We’ll begin with a winery you can practically walk to from Acadia East Campground. Located right in Gouldsboro is a wine and spirits destination like few others in the state. Bartlett Maine Estate Winery & Spirits of Maine Distilling produce some of the finest wines and ONLY liquor in the region. Bartlett has won awards for its offering of pear, blueberry, blackberry, and mead wines. Be sure to check out their tasting room and sample the oak-aged Rusticator Rum!

Bar Harbor Cellars – Bar Harbor, Maine

Next comes the only winery on Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor Cellars. Bar Harbor Cellars is located right on Route 3, a few minutes from the entrance bridge to Mount Desert Island, making it the perfect stop during your Acadia trip. The winery has a very large tasting room and wine shop, it’s seriously impressive; and even has a chocolate room. With many wine varieties to choose from, it’s perhaps the best wine tasting in Bar Harbor. For $6.00, you may choose 6 samples from the wine list. They’ll even give you a $3.00 discount and wine carrier if you purchase 3 bottles. Tastings are offered all day (10am-5pm). Closed during the winter.

Also on the property is the Sweet Pea Cafe. This beautiful vineyard-side cafe offers wood-fired pizza, charcuterie, and outdoor seating with view of the farm. When it comes to wineries near Acadia National Park, put Bar Harbor Cellars at the top of your list.

Tom began his career in Outdoor Recreation at the University of Maine at Machias before joining the City of Portland Recreation Department and becoming the Recreation Director for the Town of Bridgton. Tom became deeply invested in the national parks as the Marketing Director for a national park travel guide company. He co-founded Acadia East Campground in 2017/18.
